Intrepid local trailist Ron Brunings recognising the beauty and attraction of Klein Karoo, has been exploring the area for several years now and has assembled 10 exciting one-day mountain bike routes. The routes can be experienced by contacting "Dusty Sprocket" MTB Trails. "Dusty Sprocket" offers guided trails in the surrounding foothills and mountain ranges, which is a unique service and ensures that you make the most of your stay in the town. With names such as the "Donga Dash", "Longa Donga" "Ouberg Bop" and the "Jollie Patrollie" there is sure to be something for everyone.

Montagu also boasts an annual MTB fun ride, which is held in August each year. The ride attracts hundreds of cyclists and is set to become a premier event on the mountain bike calendar in the Western Cape.
